We had a wonderful visit to see our partners at Crossroads Drug & Alcohol Addiction Treatment Service in Arizona, USA. Wellmind Health CEO, Heather Cook, spent the day touring the Scottsdale site and discussing progress and outcomes with Karem Garcia and Dillon Stewart of the Crossroads leadership team.
Heather also met with Crossroads outpatient clients who have been using our Be Mindful and Meditainment digital therapeutics to support their long-term recovery and had the privilege of hearing their inspiring journeys firsthand.
Be Mindful and Meditainment have already supported over 650 Crossroads clients. The programs were introduced as part of the innovative Crossroads Technology Assisted Care Program (CTAC), launched in 2021, following the introduction of remote support during the Covid-19 pandemic, a dramatic rise in fentanyl use in the US, and to enhance outpatient services.
The programs supportive, on-demand nature and the empowering self-management skills learned enable Crossroads' clients to utilise them independently as they reintegrate into the community while on the 8-week CTAC programme, and beyond it, helping to prevent relapse. Be Mindful also helps educate clients about their coping mechanisms.
The hybrid model of technology and in-person support also enables clients to do self-directed learning and self-monitor their progress. This approach means clients can more easily continue to engage in treatment while reintegrating into the community, practicing coping skills in a way that is self-driven and empowers autonomy to manage their recovery.
"Be Mindful definitely helped with self-awareness and being more aware of your surroundings and Meditainment has been very helpful for me to keep that calm within myself and that inner peace."
Clients who have used Be Mindful have achieved a significant 34% reduction in anxiety and 32% reduction in depression and of those with serious mental health concerns, 66% recovered. Reductions in anxiety and depression are particularly crucial outcomes as anxiety is a primary trigger of relapse, with anxiety and depression the top issues for drop out revealed by Crossroads' monthly assessments.
Our unique platform and management portal also supply real-time engagement and outcomes reporting. This data is a valuable tool for monitoring client progress and demonstrating success and effectiveness for reimbursement.
Crossroads was established over sixty years ago, with their eleven centres now offering inpatient and outpatient treatment services to an average of 3,000 clients each year. The work they do is incredible and we cannot thank them enough for making Heather so welcome once again.
It is always a pleasure to meet the Crossroads team and clients. We look forward to continuing and expanding our support at Crossroads with our evidence-based digital tools and data.
